Zero Sievert: Ultimate Beginner’s Guide
The whole wasteland is your battlefield. Get ready for a big battle!
Zero Sievert has also joined the PC platform after publishing in Steam on November 15, 2022.
This top-down survival and shooter game let the player experience hunting down enemy bandits in a vast wasteland while making sure to survive each day. The woods have a lot to offer you and that is for you to find out as you play the game.
That being said, we made this brief guide to tell you all the things that you need to learn about Zero Sievert as a newbie player.
Ultimate Beginner’s Guide for Zero Sievert
In playing Zero Sievert, there are different aspects that we need to cover in teaching you as this game is more than just hunting down and killing bandits.
So, in this guide, we will list out all the tips that you have to know as you start your journey and enjoy the game.
The Bunker
Just like any member of an army, you will also have a bunker or hideout. This is basically your home during your whole stay in this wasteland.
What you can do inside the bunker is sell, buy, craft gears, and accept quests and missions. Aside from that, this is also where you can sleep to regain your strength.
Your Hunter’s State
To be able to conquest and successfully scavenge the whole area, you must ensure that your hunter is in an optimal state. It is, for sure, quite difficult to do that here that is why you must keep a close eye on it.
What you can do to ensure that they are at their best self is to give them enough resting time, and make sure that they are well-fed and well-hydrated.
On the upper left, next to your HP and XP, you can see icons shown there. Respectively, these are the energy, food, hydration, and radiation meters. Make sure that the first three don’t get to low, and the last does not get too high.
Gears and Weapons
Shown in the picture is your inventory as well as the gear slots.
Here, you can equip two different weapons regardless of their size and weight. Plus, you can also carry a backpack and other equipment such as a helmet or armor.
Sleep System
As mentioned previously, the bunker is where you can let your hunter sleep. If you run around, you will notice that there are lots of beds.
In fact, there is no assigned bed for each of you. This means that you can choose any bed available to take a rest.
As you take a rest, you will also be given the opportunity to indicate how long you want your unit to rest. You can adjust the slider, and the time shown below is your expected wake-up time.
Quests
Another thing that you can do inside the bunker is to accept quests.
There are different characters inside who will trade gear with you and give you quests. Simply talk to them and it is all up to you if you want to accept their request.
Maps
Once you become ready to be out in the wasteland, you will unlock the first map which is the forest.
You have to finish a lot of quests here to prove yourself to the Green Armies inside the bunker that you are worthy to pass and enter their area.
When you are out in the forest, you can see the small green circles on the map called the Extraction Points.
You must go to these areas in order to go back to the bunker and return your quest items.
Weapons and Bullets
When you are finally deployed out in the forest, make sure that all your weapons are loaded.
This is a common mistake by new players, but weapons are always empty after you buy them from the trader.
You can load it by equipping the weapon and pressing R to reload it.
Fighting
If you are just a starting player and already out for battle, make sure to keep a short but safe distance from the enemies.
Since you are still a newbie, being greedy for kills won’t be of any help. Stay away from enemies that you think are way stronger than you.
Remember that your priority out here is getting loots not kills. Now, if you are running out of ammo while in the raid, unload the ammo from the enemy gun and add it to your inventory.
Another important thing about looting is looting fast. If you are already in a real fight, you have to be fast and vigilant in your surroundings. Hold Ctrl and left click all the items that you want to transfer to your inventory quickly.
Stronger and More Dangerous
As you continue your progress in playing the game, you will eventually get stronger and be ready for more risky missions.
Since this is a person vs. environment kind of game, it is natural that the environment itself will put you at a disadvantage. Exploring a wasteland makes it possible for you to encounter hazardous areas such as spots that are highly radioactive.
Customizing Weapons
Adding modification to your weapon is also helpful for you. You can adjust it according to your playstyle.
Get your weapon to the crafting bench and click Mod weapons. After that, a list of your weapons will appear and the attachments for modification will also flash on the left side of the screen.
If you click on the attachment slot, you will see the current attachment you have and all others that you have in your stash. If you want to change something, make sure to remove the current one first and then click on the new one.
