Xenoblade Chronicles 3: How to Play Royal Summoner | Class Guide
This is how you use the postgame class in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
There are many classes you can play as in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Your character can be a Martial Artist, Sword Fighter, Tactician, and many more.
In this class guide, we’ll be focusing on one Attacker class, the Royal Summoner.
For starters, you must complete the main story to gain access to Melia and the Royal Summoner class.
This guide was written to help you better understand the class and the role it can play in the game.
Royal Summoner Class Overview in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
The Royal Summoner class can be equipped by any character. However, Noah is the most excellent option due to his superior S-class rating.
The Royal Summoner’s skills are the starting point for understanding the class’s mechanics. These are as follows:
- Elemental Boost – Using elemental discharge will boost your damage by 40% and can reach a maximum of up to 400%.
- Essence of Ether – This skill can boost your allies’ damage by 30% and reduce the enemy Block Rate by 15%. Keep in mind that this skill does not stack.
- Fortified Ether Guard – This can increase ether defense by 20%.
- Here I Shall Stand – Increases elemental damage by 100% and elemental buff effects by 50%.
There are a variety of Master Skills that you can equip, but we highly recommend equipping these:
- Covert Attack – As an attacker, this skill can reduce aggro by 65%.
- Critical Strike – Increases critical hit damage bonus by 50 percentage points.
- Eye for Weak Points – Every successful attack increases the Critical Rate by 2%.
Arts
This is followed by the arts you should equip, starting with the Combat Arts.
Combat Arts
You must have the Summon Element Art as it is the bread and butter for the Royal Summoner class. This art can call forth an element that deals elemental damage and even strengthen an element.
The second Art is Elemental Discharge combined with Summon Element. This will be your primary means of dealing damage. With this art, you can increase your elemental damage by 150%, and when paired with Elemental Boost, your bonus damage will increase even further.
The last art called Starfall deals a massive amount of damage and can even topple an enemy.
Master Arts
After Combat Arts are the Master Arts, and these are the ones that you should equip:
The first is Flamelord which is your Positional Art. This Art can boost your damage when attacking enemies from the front.
Following that is Hydro Blast, a master art that can increase the power of an Ether attack by 400% and give it a 50% chance to bypass defenses. It can also cause a blowdown.
The last master art is Ring o’ Roses which allows you to recharge faster and cast Elemental Discharge as quickly as possible.
Talent Art
The last Art is Talent Art, and the best one for the Royal Summoner is Elemental Genesis. This talent art can boost damage by discharging elementals, and the damage it deals depends on the number of elements you summoned.
Gem Selection
For the Gem Selection part, make sure to equip these gems:
- Empowered Combo X – Boost damage by 75% when canceling
- Analyze Weakness X – Increase critical hit damage bonus by 70 percentage points
- Disperse Bloodlust X – Reduce aggro when using Art by 45%
Accessories
You want to equip these accessories to make the most out of your Royal Summoner:
- Saturni Rings – Boosts attack by 40%
- Warped Black Brooch – Ignores 30% of the enemy’s ether defense when landing a hit
- Mercurii Rings – Boosts Critical Rate by 60%
Playing as a Royal Summoner
As a Royal Summoner, you aim to put your Art and skills to good use. The damage bonuses from Summon Element and Elemental Discharge must be stacked.
To defeat enemies, spam your Art ability and then unleash Starfall. You can do a lot of damage with a chain strike if you get to maximum stacks.
