Wild Hearts: Karakuri Katana Weapon Guide
Start the story as a mighty samurai.
There are eight different weapons that you can wield in Wild Hearts. It ranges from short to long range weapons with various special abilities.
One of the weapons that most players are excited about is the Karakuri Katana. Its flawless blade and swift movements that can deal a massive amount of damage is really something that you should prepare yourself with.
That is why we made this brief guide to show you what to expect in using the Karakuri Katana.
Karakuri Katana Weapon Guide in Wild Hearts
The Karakuri Katana is the first weapon that you will ever get as you start your journey in Azuma.
Despite being the starting weapon, this sword is tough enough to kill a Kemono or the gigantic monster of nature.
Although it is expected for a sword to only have different types of swishes and slashes, it is also essential for you to fully understand all the skills and mechanics in order for you to unleash its true potential. In fact, this katana is no ordinary sword.
Wielding the Weapon
To use the basic attack of the weapon, all you have to do is press the X button.
Pressing this button continuously will trigger a combo attack which basically deals more damage than the basic attack does.
Another move that you can do is the lai slash which is triggered by pressing the triangle or Y button. As you can see, the character sheaths the sword for a moment.
After a few moments, it will be followed by a mid-range dash and a quick slash on the enemy.
Next is the single-handed lunge that you can perform by using the right trigger or RT button.
As implied in its name, it shows a few heavy forward attacks which consume stamina. Combining this with some basic combo attacks is a deadly one.
Interaction with Karakuri
Aside from simply swinging your sword fearlessly, there are also some tactics that you can use to gain an advantage over your enemy. This pertains to constructing Karakuris or the structures that can give you different buffs.
In Wild Hearts, you will be able to construct these boxes mid-fight to use as boost.
What you can do here is climb up this box, jump, and land an attack to the enemy to do this very cool hero stance in the game.
This is also a good way to sort of confuse your enemy. Plus, landing the attack deals great damage.
Another platform that you can conjure is the spring. You can use this to bounce and dash forward to either reposition yourself or do a surprise attack.
There is also the flame Karakuri which looks like a torch that you can use to engulf your sword in flames. Simply dash through it and your sword will be in flames.
Having this on your sword will greatly increase your damage.
Katana Gauge
While you are in the middle of a fight, notice the bar placed at the top of your character’s health. You will see that this bar fills up upon a successful hit on the enemy. Basic attacks slowly increase this gauge, but special and combo attacks fill this up quickly.
Once the gauge is full, you can transform your katana into a chain. Simply hold down the RT button to do this. You can perform the same attacks in this form. However, attacks in this form will deal greater damage.
Now, if you want to revert your weapon back to its sword form, you can just let go of the RT button.
