Sons of the Forest is a sequel to the 2014 survival game, The Forest, and similar to it, you craft tools or find some to survive further in the game. Some can be obtained by exploring the forest or heading inside dark, dangerous caves.

One of the tools you need is the Rebreather; we will show you where you can obtain it.

Getting the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest

If you’ve played The Forest or heard of it, a Rebreather is one of the few tools needed to finish its story. So the developers might also do this in Sons of the Forest.

You can also use the Rebreather to reach underwater places with rare materials or even tools.

The Rebreather is located at a cave near the beach on the northwestern part of the map; ensure you have a torch or a lighter, as it will be very dark inside. Once you are inside the cave, take the path on the right.

Continue walking and following the path until you encounter three floodlights. On the third one, go to the opposite side instead of going straight to it. Once you are near the waterfalls, stick to the right wall.

You will know if you are near if you hear the sound of the waterfall getting louder. Hug the walls on the right until you find another entrance. If you need to crouch to continue, you are on the correct path.

After crouching, you will be in another spacious cave area; head down the slope, and you will find the Rebreather near the floodlight.

Congratulations! You have now obtained the Rebreather. With this in your hand, you can now swim underwater without paying attention to your oxygen.
