Dead Space Remake is a game full of quests, objectives, and missions that you need to accomplish consecutively to progress its story.

But aside from fighting unknown creatures and finishing these tasks, there are also some other things that you can do in the form of side quests.

One of the side quests in the game involves finding collectible items. An excellent example of these collectibles is the RIGs that you can find around USG Ishimura.

These rigs are once owned by the crew members of the ship. If you manage to collect all RIGs, you can then craft the Master Override that grants you access to doors and crates.

For this guide, we will focus on finding Chief Engineer Rousseau’s RIG.

Where to Find Chief Engineer Rousseau’s RIG

To find Chief Engineer Rousseau’s RIG, you must first start the side quest called You Are Not Authorized. Here, you will be tasked to find all the RIGs on the ship.

Among all the RIGs, this specific RIG is actually hard to find. That’s because you must first reach clearance level 3 which will only happen if you further progress in the main game’s storyline.

Usually, players are able to find this during or after Chapter 7.

On the other hand, if you have already reached and met all the required levels to find this, then you can proceed to the following steps.

Go to Floor 5: Engineering

Once you have already collected the Mining Supervisor Dallas’s RIG, head over to the fifth floor called the Engineering floor by taking a left turn from this area shown in the picture above.

Upon accessing this door, you will immediately have to deal with a monster that will block your way. After defeating the enemy, face right and you will see this.

Head straight, and once you see another left and right path, choose the left one and access this door.

Upon opening this door, you should see another door that looks exactly like this. On the other side of this door, just follow the path which will lead you to a zero gravity room.a

Here, you will eventually exit upon reaching the next door.

Once you leave the zero gravity room, you will find yourself back in this room with flesh-looking walls. Keep following the path until you reach this corridor.

When you get there, turn right and look for the room with the number 3 on it. Unlock this room to obtain the RIG you are looking for.
