We Who Are About to Die How to Counter Enemies Guide

We Who Are About to Die provides a wide range of weapons and armor you can use. It also has a pretty simple economy management feature.

To give yourself a better chance of winning battles, you must be well-versed in the type of enemies that you will be facing and how you can counter them.

This guide will teach you everything you need to know about them.

We Who Are About to Die Enemy Counter Guide

Unlike most games, you will need to practice and know the appropriate strategies to get good at this game.

Countering enemies is a crucial mechanic that requires strategy and prior knowledge. That said, here are the enemy types in the game and how to counter them:

Civilian

This is the weakest type of enemy who only wears light armor and uses starter weapons. This enemy type is one that you will see during the first few weeks of gameplay.

Besides, you can counter them with virtually anything in the game.

Criminal

Criminals have helmets, unlike Civilians, along with some armor. They have shields and mostly use shortswords or rusty two-handed weapons.

Their weak points are their arms and legs. Just make sure not to let them hit you too much as they can deal quite a lot of damage.

Pit Slave

This type of enemy usually has light or no armor with wooden weapons. Aside from that, they can also use Falchions. Countering them is similar to the previous two.

Pit Maceman

Pit Maceman

They are a little more dangerous than the slaves as they wield maces. Aside from maces, they can use shields with it or wield two-handed weapons.

You want to keep your distance from weapons like these as they can do huge amounts of damage. If they do have shields, they tend to be pretty weak.

They also tend to have some armor. That said, spears are your best buddy against them.

Pit Spearman

Pit Spearman

This is similar to the Pit Maceman but with spears as the main weapon. They can be seen with bronze tridents and throwing spears, though, at times, they can also have a bore stacker.

Make sure to break their throwing spears as soon as you can when they have them. Their shields aren’t that big so they won’t be a problem.

Make sure to get close to them so you can counter their long spears.

Pit Flailman

Pit Flailman

This enemy type uses flails and has similar equipment to the previous two enemies.

Make sure to wear decent armor and shield to stand a chance against them. A good tip is to treat them like madmen by keeping your distance and timing your hits using a spear.

Pit Shieldbreaker

Pit Shieldbreaker

The Pit Shieldbreaker tends to have some armor, especially on the arms. Their weapons are either a Basic Chaka or a Spike Mala.

If they have a one-handed weapon, there’s a good chance they have a shield as well. Look for their unarmored weak spots and use long-range weapons like spears to have a range advantage.

Pit Barbarian

The Pit Barbarian will have some armor and a weapon with a shield. Normally, they have splitter Chakas.

Take extra care when facing them as this can break your armor. They also use the Flathead Chaka with armored arms.

The best way to counter them is to use a spear.

Pit Boss

The Pit Boss can have some armor, but their weapons are really good. Their range of weapons includes Spike Malas, Morg Malas Hammer, Bardish, and even the Double Chaka.

If they are using two-handed weapons, there’s a good chance that their arms will be exposed. Make sure to capitalize on that.

They also tend to have bare chests.

Worthy Aspirant

Worthy Aspirant

This is the first aspirant variant. This type of enemy can have literally anything, though they are pretty low-level. Make sure to observe for weak spots and adjust accordingly.

Lion Slayers

Lion Slayers

Lion Slayers have some type of armor with bare chests. They also have helmets and a trident.

There are times when they don’t use shields and instead use spears or a leather square shield. Ideally, you should counter them by getting up close and personal.

Executor

Executor

Executors always have the same armor, helmet, and two-handed weapons. Make sure to hit them in the arms.
