The Settlers: New Allies is a real-time city-building game that will let you explore and utilize your creativity and strategy in optimizing your base and troops. Aside from that, you will also get to make a decision that will greatly impact your gameplay throughout your journey.
Here are some of the things that you have to know when playing it for the first time:
Select Your Factions
The first decision that you have to think about is the faction that you want to be a part of. In this game, you can choose among the three factions named Elari, Maru, and Jorn.
Each of these factions has different strengths and weaknesses which will make their playstyle unique from the others. Plus, one of the most obvious is their difference in appearance.
But what’s most interesting here is that each faction has its own background story that you would want to unveil.
Keep the Carriers Busy

Carriers are the most basic unit that you can have in a skirmish campaign. All work that needs to be done will be automatically handled by the carriers. If you ever need to transfer some resources from one place to another, you will visibly see your carriers working together.

That being said, these basic units are the most essential unit that you should have in the game. Because in order to boom your economy, you will need the carriers to do all the world for you, from gathering resources to constructing your buildings.
To keep a steady and enough number of carriers, simply construct new housing even if it cost you to reach your maximum population capacity.
However, if you are uncomfortable having a high population, you can manage the carriers by prioritizing the most necessary work.
For example, you have a lot of things to accomplish but you can’t go on because one infrastructure demands a high number of carriers. What you can do here is click the ongoing construction and pause the work.
That way, you will have all the carriers here to be available and will command them to work on the other task that needs a hand.
Manage Engineers Well
What’s more interesting in the game is that there is an auto-build command where the game AI will automatically assign engineers to work on all the available jobs. However, depending on the AI may not fit your strategy due to the prioritization of the structures to build.
Having said that, you must be hands-on when it comes to your engineers. Make sure that you also pay attention to where they are currently working.
Grouping your engineers by batch and assigning them to different works is an efficient strategy that can expedite your working hours and waiting time for all the buildings that need to be constructed.
This is better than letting all the manpower focus on one project alone.
Construct Stone Roads
Send workers on a long trip will result in longer waiting times. To avoid that, you must build stone roads.
Stone roads allow faster travel for travelers, especially for pull-cart transportation. It is important to also prioritize the welfare of your pull-cart as it triples the capacity and supplies being transported by the carriers.
These can be too much to take in, but with these information, you’ll be able to kickstart your campaign in the game.
