Setting up a Mining Relay does not cost oxygen or power. You do not need to light up an area to set up a Mining Relay.

However, it would be best if you first made sure that the dark area has deposits by building a Sonar Tower.

If your Mining Relay is far from your main base, it will take time for the submarine to return to your base after harvesting. To bypass this, you can build storage in an area far from your base with tons of resources.

To increase the number of resources you can obtain, you must have a lot of Submarines. You can unlock the Docks in the Technology Tree and then build it to increase your maximum number of Submarines.

Each Dock increases the maximum number of Submarines by 1. Additionally, Docks do not cost power or oxygen. Once you have a Dock, go to the Submarine Factory to build more Submarines.

A Coal Generator is needed to power up your base. However, if you have an Outpost, you can obtain an additional 4 power without using Coal. The only downside is that it costs tons of resources.

It even gives you +4 oxygen, but you must connect the Outpost to your main base.

The crew of clones you create has mutations in them, which will lessen their lifespan. The only method to obtain an immortal clone is by getting the Common Habitat, Atolla Jellyfish.

The Atolla Jellyfish has a 0% chance for the specialty and success, but it has a -16% for the mutation.

When you combine it in the Genome Sequencer with 2 Spider Crabs and 1 Goblin Shark, for example, this will give you a 0% chance of having a mutation and 54% of having a Generalist clone.
