Subnautica Where to Get Stasis Rifle Fragments Locations

Subnautica is known for being a low-combat survival game. As such, it doesn’t feature many defensive tools.

One of the few defensive tools in the game is the Stasis Rifle which allows you to freeze aggressive creatures in place. This allows you to either fight them or escape.

To unlock this powerful tool, you’ll first need to find various fragments. This guide will show you where to find them.

Before we begin, you should be aware that Subnautica has some randomized elements. While the game’s world is always the same, some things do randomly change.

One such change is what resources you find. This includes the Stasis Rifle Fragments. This means it’s not always guaranteed to find the fragments in every location we list.

However, it’s guaranteed for at least 2 locations. That’s because you only need 2 out of the 8 possible fragments to unlock the Statsis Rifle.

Additionally, we’ll be using a common starting point to make it easier to find the locations. We’ll be using a giant coral tube that has a clear view of the Aurora.

To start, find the Aurora ship near the game’s starting point and go to its left side. While looking at its left engine, turn around to face toward the northwest.

You should notice the giant coral tube sticking out of the water. This will be your starting position as you look for the Stasis Rifle fragments. Your view from the coral should be like in the picture below.

We’ll also be using the notches on your compass to help further guide you. It’s also recommended to have the Seamoth for travel, as well as oxygen tank upgrades.

Once you’re ready, head out to these locations:

Jellyshroom Caves Degasi Base

You’ll be diving pretty deep down, so you should have upgrades ready for that. There might also be radiation depending on your story’s progress. Be mindful of that.

Stand on the coral tube and look toward the southeast. Now look about 2 compass notches to your right. Head directly forward, facing down until you see the entrance to the Jellyshroom Caves.

Dive down into the caves which are about 200-300 meters down. You should find the wreck of a manmade structure. The fragment should be in a box near the wreck.

Floating Island

Stand back on the coral tube and face about one notch to the left southwest. Head straight forward while staying near the surface until you find an island.

Land on the island and climb the mountains while heading southwest until you find a wreck. Check the boxes near the wreck for fragments.

You might find 2 fragments at once in this location.

Kelp Forest Wreck 1

Kelp Forest Wreck 1

Get back on the coral starting point and face straight northwest. Head straight in this direction until you reach the underwater kelp forest.

You should see a wreck about 70m down. Explore this wreck to find a fragment inside of it.

Underwater Islands Wreck

From the coral, face north and look one notch to your left. You’ll be diving deep, so having an upgraded Seamoth is recommended. Stay close to the sea floor until it opens up.

Shortly after you reach the large chasm, you should find a wreck. Explore it to potentially find a fragment.

Kelp Forest Wreck 2

Kelp Forest Wreck 2

Back at the coral, face north and two notches to your right. Stay about 15m in the water until you reach the kelp forest.

You should spot a wreck in the kelp forest eventually. Enter it and explore to look for a potential fragment.

Bulb Zone Wreck 1

Bulb Zone Wreck 1

For this fragment, get back on the coral and face one notch to the right northeast. The Bulb Zone is near a biome with large tree-like mushrooms that requires a radiation suit.

Keep sticking to the seafloor as you swim straight ahead, and you’ll eventually find a wreck about 180m underwater. Enter it to find a fragment inside.

Bulb Zone Wreck 2

Bulb Zone Wreck 2

Instead of using the coral starting point for this one, we’ll be using the previous Bulb Zone wreck.

While you’re at Bulb Zone Wreck 1, face directly east. Swim straight ahead and you should find this second wreck about 400m east of the previous one. Explore it to look for the fragment.
