The best way to heal in the game is through the use of medicine represented as little bottles of pills.

While you will find some at the crash site when first starting the game, you will find a lot of other bottles throughout the island, like in crates and caches all throughout the island.

You’ll usually find these around caves or cannibal camps. These crates refill every few days, allowing you to keep returning to the crash site so you can get more medicine.

You can also craft medicine, though it is tough to find the proper crafting materials, and you will only start finding them late into the game.

You can create Herbal Health Mix by combining Yarrow and Aloe.

Eat Food

Another way to heal is by eating food. However, the amount of health you get depends on what you eat.

Small plants like mushrooms or berries do not provide a lot of health, but cooked meat and fish restore a decent amount of health.

You can use a drying rack to ensure your meat lasts longer. You can also build a garden, which will provide you with edible plants for a consistent food source.

Sleep

Finally, you can recover health by sleeping. However, to sleep, you will need a Shelter Tent or some other form of a sleeping area.

Sleeping will restore your health significantly, especially if you do so on a full stomach and are hydrated.
