Sons of The Forest: How to Get Water
Sate your thirst with the help of this short guide.
Thirst is one of the many survival mechanics you will have to deal with in Sons of the Forest. You will also need to find proper sources of water to prevent sickness.
In this short guide, we will go over how to find suitable sources of drinkable water, so that you can sate your thirst. Read on and we’ll tell you everything you need to know.
Where to Find the River in Sons of the Forest
The easiest way to find drinkable water in Sons of the Forest is by using your GPS. On your GPS, you should be able to see any nearby rivers and lakes represented in blue.
Approach one of the rivers or lakes. Put your gear away with G, then press E to grab a sip of water. A couple of sips should be enough to fully sate your thirst, filling the bar.
Avoid drinking from puddles of stagnant water or the sea.
Alternatively, you can find and collect Yarrow Flowers. These white flowers refill some amount of your thirst gauge. You should always carry some on you when venturing away from a water source.
You might also find various drinks in containers and the like, but you won’t be able to refill the bottles once you consume the drinks.
You can also, later on, find the recipe for a Canteen. Similar to the Waterskin from The Forest, the canteen can be refilled at water sources, allowing you to carry water.
