Sons of the Forest: How to Get Grappling Hook | Rope Gun Ammo

If you get creative, you can tackle obstacles in Sons of the Forest in many ways. The game features a landscape filled with mountains and uneven terrain.

Luckily, that’s possible with the Rope Gun which allows you to traverse from point A to point B with ease.

However, you will need a grappling hook as its ammo to do so. In this guide, we’ll show you how you can obtain it.

How to Get the Grappling Hook in Sons of the Forest

If you’ve been playing for a while now, then you probably know that you can find it inside a creepy cave. Head over to the location circled in the image.

You’ll need to bring some kind of explosive to blow some debris blocking access.

You will encounter enemies inside, so try to spam the explosives. Once you’re done, get inside the cave and follow the path. You’ll find the Rope Gun at the end of the trail.

When you’re looking for rope, you must keep in mind it comes in two kinds: the regular rope which is marked with a coil symbol, and the zipline rope which is marked with an 8 digit.

As the rope is a resource, you can’t craft it, so don’t lose time farming the wrong kind of rope. 

After you’ve farmed some regular rope, head over to the location shown in the image and enter the underground area.

You will then come across a computer. Use it to then print the grappling hook via the 3D printer.
