Sons of the Forest: How to Fix Brightness | Being too Bright
Reduce the brightness in the game by applying a certain settings.
Sons of the Forest is finally here, which means you can go and play the game to build stuff or find some cannibal camp to kick their asses.
As you explore the island, you will sometimes notice that some areas are just way too bright. This is especially true during the day in snowy areas, water surfaces, moist rocks, etc.
This can be quite straining to the eyes. Luckily, we have a quick fix for it. Let’s find out how to do it.
Fixing the Brightness in Sons of the Forest
To reduce the brightness, you want to head over to the main menu and select Options. From there, go to the Graphics tab, scroll down to Features, and find Bloom.
You simply have to turn Bloom off to lessen the glaring brightness.
Bloom is an effect that adds fringes of light which will then make an object brighter. The above image has Bloom turned on while the image below has it turned off.
It will still be bright after turning it off, but it will not be blinding.
If that is still too bright for you, go to the Options again. In the Display section, configure the brightness and adjust it based on your preference.
Keep in mind that when it reaches nighttime or if you are inside a cave, it can become too dark instead, so find the threshold of brightness that your eyes can comfortably handle.
