Sons of the Forest: How to Combine Items | Crafting Guide

As a survival game, crafting is one of the most important things to learn in Sons of the Forest.

By crafting, you’ll be able to turn useless raw materials into new weapons, food, tools, and more. As such, you should get accustomed to the game’s unique crafting system early on.

How to Combine Items in Sons of the Forest

Crafting in Sons of the Forest is done within your inventory, so open your inventory to start.

Within your inventory, find the item you wish to combine and press the “Combine Item” button. With a keyboard and mouse, it’s Right Click.

When you do so, the item will be put in the middle of your inventory mat.

Now, put your cursor on the gear in the top right of the inventory’s center. This will show you all available recipes you have for the item you selected previously.

All that’s left now is to find the other items you need within your inventory to complete a recipe. Add them with Right Click as well.

With all the right ingredients in the center of the inventory mat, the gear will fill up. Right Click on the gear to confirm the crafting recipe.

Watch the crafting animation play out and your new item will be ready. That’s all there is to it!

The system is a bit confusing at first, but you should hopefully have the hang of it now. More crafting recipes will become available as you gather new items and resources.
