Sons of the Forest is finally available to play. Since the game is still in Early Access, you can expect a few optimization issues every now and then.

Fortunately, if you have outdated hardware, you can still run Sons of the Forest, though it won’t be as smooth as you’d expected.

There are still a few settings you can follow to play the game at the highest FPS possible. Let’s find out what those settings are.

To start, you want to tweak your Display settings first. The Resolution should match or at least be compatible with your display. This way, you won’t be pushing too many pixels.

Set the Fullscreen setting to Exclusive Fullscreen for the best possible performance. Also, set your Max FPS to MAX while Gamma and Brightness will be up to your preference.

You can set Gameplay & Control settings based on your preference. It won’t matter what FPS you’re getting since the most important part is how comfortable you are when playing.

Audio & Dynamic Range

For Audio & Dynamic Range, you need to take into account whether you’re using speakers or headphones when playing. Of course, this will also be entirely up to your preference.
