PSO2 NGS Best Armor to Use Guide
Let us help you pick the best armor to use!
Armor is one of the most important pieces of equipment in PSO2 NGS. It is also known as Units in-game.
However, this piece of equipment doesn’t just provide Defense and basic stat boosts. It can also increase the power of your weapons!
As such, picking the right armor will improve both offense and defense. That said, if you want to know the best armor you can use in the game, this guide is for you.
Best Armor to Use in PSO2 NGS
The best armor to use in PSO2 NGS will depend on your level. As you level up, you will want to swap your armor with newer and stronger ones. Hence, this guide will be divided into sections depending on the character’s level.
You will also need to pay attention to Potency. This is divided into MEL (Melee), RNG (Ranged), and TEC (Technique). Higher Potency will increase the power of the respective weapon type.
Since some armor will provide more Potency to one weapon type than to others, you will need to pick which one best fits your build.
Now, let’s look at the best armor in the game!
Level 1 – Renaissa
The best armor early in the game is the Renaissa set which you can obtain from the Advice from Liu Lin II quest. It’s a powerful set that provides +1% Potency to all 3 weapon types, so it’s a solid jack of all trades.
Level 10 – Cattleya
This is a solid armor choice that you get through the main quests. Specifically, you can obtain it once you complete The Cornerstone of Retem’s Revival.
Sadly, this armor provides no boost to any Potency. It’s a solid choice overall, nonetheless and you might even keep it on until Level 31!
Level 31 – Schwarz Set
This armor comes in three different variants: Schwarzest, Schwarzgarde, and Schwarzrosso.
You can obtain all variants from the Dark Falz Urgent quest which is an event that happens every now and then. Alternatively, you can buy them from the Personal Shop or player markets.
They all provide great Stats and Defense, and they all also provide +2% Potency for one weapon type, depending on the variant. The Potency for each variant is as follows:
- Schwarzest: +2% Melee
- Schwarzgarde: +2% Ranged
- Schwarzrosso: +2% Technique
Pick whichever variant fits your playstyle best.
Level 47 – Sestato Set
Much like the Schwarz Set, this armor comes in three variants: Arga, Belta, and Sheza.
This armor can be obtained from the Personal Shop, Kvaris Purple Battledia, Drill: Dark Falz Interception R.2, and Red Boxes.
The Red Boxes version comes with the Decold augment as well, so it’s the recommended one to look for! Much like the Schwarz, this armor set provides fantastic overall stats.
Each variant also specializes in different Potencies which are as follows:
- Sestato Arga: +2.25% to Melee and Ranged.
- Sestato Belta: +2.25% to Ranged and Technique.
- Sestato Sheza: +2.25% to Melee and Technique.
Again, pick whichever one best fits your playstyle.
Level 57 – Efitus Set
This armor comes in three variants: Arga, Belta, and Sheza.
Like the Sestato, you can also get this armor from Drill: Dark Falz Interception R.2. Other sources for this armor are the Aelio, Retem, and Kvariz Lv60+ combat zones.
You can also get them as rewards for clearing the Ordinal Tower and from Red Boxes. This is the best option if possible, as it comes with further enhancements.
Its variant bonuses are similar to the Sestato Set’s which are as follows:
- Efitus Arga: +3% to Melee and Ranged.
- Efitus Belta: +3% to Ranged and Technique.
- Efitus Sheza: +3% to Melee and Technique.
Level 61 – Eptize Set
The last one is the Eptize Set which is mostly an alternative to the Efitus set and not a direct upgrade. This comes in two different variants: Vio and Vida.
You can obtain the armor from Stia Purple Battledias, Stia enemies, and the Stia Dext Base combat area. It can also be obtained from the Personal Shop as with any other armor.
Both variants of this armor give +3% Potency to all 3 weapon types. However, they give different stats. Each variant focuses exclusively on one stat:
- Vio: +10 PP, 0 HP and RES
- Vida: +55 HP, 0 PP and RES
You can’t go wrong with either variant, but you might also just prefer to use the Efitus set. Ultimately, it’s up to your preference.
