The Mighty Decidueye Tera Raid is coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It will be a 7-star Raid featuring a powerful variant of Decidueye!

This raid will be available on two weekends: March 17 to 19 and March 24 to 26, so make sure you don’t miss these dates!

But how can you prepare to beat this fearsome foe? Well, let’s find out which strategy you can use!

The Mighty Decidueye is a Grass/Ghost-type Pokémon that also happens to have the Flying Tera Type. This means it should have weak Defense and relatively low HP. However, it has high Special Defense, Attack, and Special Attack.

Your best two options for taking it down are Iron Hands and Baxcalibur. Whichever one you pick, you’ll need to make sure it’s at Level 100!

Now, let’s look at the potential strategies using both of these Pokémon.

Using Iron Hands

Iron Hands is a bulky Pokémon with ridiculously high HP, Attack, and Defense. However, its Special Defense is very low which can be a problem.

Your strategy with Iron Hands revolves around using Belly Drum and Electric-type moves. If you opt for using Iron Hands, you want to have it hold the Shell Bell item. Also, your best offensive move will be Thunder Punch.

You also want to raise its Attack as much as possible, such as with EVs. Basically, set your Iron Hands up to try to one-shot Decidueye.

Sadly, Iron Hands is likely to be taken down quickly if Decidueye uses Special Attack moves. After all, Iron Hands has very low Special Defense!

Using Baxcalibur

Baxcalibur, on the other hand, should be a more reliable Pokémon. It might not be able to take down the Decidueye as quickly, but it should survive much more easily.

Much like Iron Hands, you will want to boost your Attack as much as possible. You can do this by maxing out its EVs at 252. You will then want to spread the remaining EVs on Defense and Special Defense.

Using Baxcalibur 1

As for moves, you can use Swords Dance to raise your Attack. You should also have Baxcalibur hold the Loaded Dice item. This will allow you to make great use of the Icicle Spear spear to ensure it hits 4 times.

Alternatively, you can hold the Shell Bell and use Icicle Crash. This shouldn’t be quite as damaging overall but should have better survivability.

Hopefully, these potential setups help you! Remember, this is all theoretical. The raid is not available yet, so we can only speculate. Still, this should help you get ready!
