Percival Rackham’s Trial Puzzle Solution – Hogwarts Legacy

Wizards and witches will have to overcome many challenges throughout their journey in Hogwarts Legacy. One such challenge is Percival Rackham’s trial.

This trial will test your combat and puzzle-solving abilities as you overcome your enemies and be clever enough to emerge victorious.

How to Solve Percival Rackham’s Trial

As part of the “Percival Rackham’s Trial” quest, you’ll have to complete a series of puzzles and challenges at San Bakar’s Tower.

The trial will properly start as soon as you head into the tower and speak with the portrait of Percival Rackham himself.

After this conversation, head downstairs and stand on the magic circle on the floor. Interact with it to open up a doorway and head through it after.

Make your way forward until you come across a large chasm. Look to your left to find a flight of stairs heading down.

Take the stairs and interact with the pool of magic to create a path leading to the first platform puzzle.

The First Floating Platform Puzzle

Follow the path until you reach a large circular room where you will need to interact with yet another pool of ancient magic. This opens up a portal in the middle of the room. Head through the portal.

Keep moving forward until you come to a very large room. You’ll face Pensieve Protectors in this room, so get ready for combat!

When the enemies are taken care of, go forward to the purple area on your minimap.

You’ll come across a room with a floating platform. Cast Accio on the platform to drag it towards you then jump onto it. Use Accio again on the pillar in the middle of the room to move towards it.

Look to your right and find another hook on the wall. Again, cast Accio on it to drag yourself in its direction. Jump off the platform and onto the balcony.

Interact with the ancient magic and head through the portal doorway to get a Plum Velvet Robe. Head back through the portal after picking it up.

Jump back onto the floating platform and cast Accio on the hook by the wall, near the portal you just came out of. Then hop off the platform onto the balcony.

The Second Floating Platform Puzzle

Move forward to come across another large room with more Pensieve Protectors waiting to attack you. Take them out however you wish.

After the enemies are dealt with, you’ll find another floating platform puzzle waiting for you.

Ignore the platform for now. Instead, jump down and head up the stairs until you’re on the balcony opposite the entrance. Now, cast Accio on the platform to pull it.

Hop onto the platform to interact with a pool of ancient magic. Turn around on the spot to notice the wall behind you is gone, opening a large section of the room.

The ancient magic also activated the big archway portal in the center of the room. Drop down from the platform and walk through the portal.

Now, get back onto the platform and cast Accio on the hook to your left. Pull yourself towards a chest you can open up. This also puts the platform on the south side of the room.

Drop down from the platform and walk through the portal once again. Head up the stairs and onto the balcony in the middle of the room. Cast Accio on the platform and get on it.

Finish the puzzle by casting Accio on the wall hook, pulling yourself toward the exit of the room.

Finishing Percival Rackham’s Trial

After getting off of the platform, head down the stairs to reach a massive room where you will face even more Pensieve Protectors and Pensieve Sentries.

All that’s left to finish up the trial is one last floating platform section.

Activate the ancient magic pool on the edge of the cliff and pull the platform with Accio. Get on the platform and cast Accio on the hook right in front of you.

Now look to your left to spot another hook. Cast Accio on it and position your floating platform parallel to the archway portal in the center of the area.

Find the other floating platform and use Accio on it, pulling both platforms together. When it’s close enough, hop through the portal and onto the other platform.

Look for the hook to your left and pull yourself toward it with Accio. Then look to your right and use Accio on the furthermost hook. Hop off the platform onto the new room.

Proceed to the only path forward until you reach a massive circular room where you will face the Pensieve Guardian boss.

After an arduous fight, interact with Percival Rackham’s Memories in the basin. Now, just follow your marker to the Map Chamber and speak to the characters you meet to finish the trial.
