How to Unlock the Seasonal Artifact in Destiny 2 Lightfall

Destiny 2 Lightfall is finally here. Along with this expansion, we are also getting the 20th season, the Season of Defiance.

However, you will first need to claim the Seasonal Artifact to start the Season of Defiance. This Artifact also works differently than previous Seasonal Artifacts.

Without further ado, let’s go over how you can unlock the Seasonal Artifact in Destiny 2 Lightfall.

To get the Seasonal Artifact for the Season of Defiance, you will need to have the Lightfall DLC expansion.

If you own the Lightfall expansion, you will be prompted to go through an initial mission as soon as you start the game. The mission is titled “First Contact” and is available in Neptune.

During this mission, you will make your way to Neomuna and fight a variety of enemies. Take care of the enemies and progress through the mission.

Now, speak with Nimbus at the Watch Tower. He will say that an artifact apparently came for you. All that’s left to do is to grab the Seasonal Artifact.

This Seasonal Artifact is called the Ascendant Scepter. With it in your possession, you can now take part in the Season of Defiance quests.

Additionally, you can now check the Ascendant Scepter from within your Character screen. Simply level up the Artifact to unlock new perks which will remain active at all times.

Alternatively, you can also claim the Seasonal Artifact by speaking to Nimbus at the Striders’ Gate. This location is found near the top of the Neptune map.

If the above methods failed, you can also check the Quest Archive inside The Tower. This likely won’t be necessary but it’s good to keep in mind.
