How to Turn Off Trooper Cards in Like a Dragon Ishin

The Trooper Cards is a new combat mechanic added to the Like a Dragon series, formerly known as Yakuza. These cards can damage enemies, debuff them, or buff the main character Ryoma.

You can also combine them to get various effects. However, they can be annoying at times. If you are not a fan of this, you can actually turn them off. Here’s how.

You can unlock Trooper Cards when you reach Chapter 5.

As Ryoma becomes the Shinsengumi’s Third Division Captain, you can recruit troopers which will allow you to use the card’s abilities in battle.

You can’t turn off the Trooper Cards, but you can unequip them instead which is basically the same thing.

But since they give benefits like stat increases, unequipping them can actually be a disadvantage.

Fortunately, there is another method to turn them off without actually foregoing their benefits!

To do this, go to Settings, select Display, then turn off the UI display. This will then remove all of the UI, including the Trooper Cards.

However, you can still activate it normally if you hold the buttons. You’re just now playing the game without a UI which will actually give you a more immersive experience!

You can also reduce the amount of blood in the Display, turn off the damage display, and toggle Cinematic Mode inspired by vintage Samurai movies, among others.
