How to Put Up a Tent in Sons of the Forest
You’ll need a roof over your head to survive!
Setting up a tent is a basic survival need in Sons of the Forest. While the simple tent doesn’t provide much in the way of protection or comfort, it still counts as a home in the wilderness.
In this short guide, we’ll tell you how you can set up your own tent.
How to Put Up a Tent
Setting up a tent is one of the first things you should do in Sons of the Forest.
After you’ve acquired the Guide Book at the start of the game, you’ll need to find a pair of sticks and 1 tarp.
You can find a tarp by opening the containers on the beach you start the game in. It’s a large silvery sheet, folded neatly into a square. Grab it once you find it.
Next, you’ll need at least 2 sticks. The sticks are all over the island you’re in, so you should have no trouble getting your hands on a few of them.
Now, open your inventory and left click on the tarp to put it on your hands. Look for a flat enough spot on the ground and lay it down.
Lastly, grab the sticks. Aim at a corner of the tarp and press left click. This will place the stick and raise the corner.
Do this for 2 corners on the same side, and you now have a basic tent! You can now use this tent to sleep and save the game.
Additionally, you can dismantle the tent by pressing C. This tears it down and allows you to recover your tarp and sticks so you can set a tent in another spot.
