The spear is one of the basic craftable weapons in Sons of the Forest. This versatile weapon is good for melee combat but can also be thrown to attack from range.

Needless to say, the spear has a wide variety of uses. It can be used to defend yourself from enemies and can also be used to hunt animals for food and resources, even for fishing!

How to Get the Spear Weapon

You can make the Crafted Spear very early in the game. In fact, it might be the first weapon you can craft. To craft the spear you will need the following:

• 2 Sticks
• 1 Duct Tape
• 1 Utility Knife

Sticks can be found anywhere. You’ll likely have some already as they’re all over the ground on most of the island. You can chop trees to get sticks as well.

Meanwhile, you can find the Duct Tape and the Utility Knife on the same beach where you start the game.

Just explore the beach and open up all the containers you find. Both items should be inside containers.

Once you have everything you need, open your inventory by pressing the I key. Next, right click on each of the ingredients we listed above to place them in the center of your inventory.

When all materials are in the proper spot, right click on the cog in the center of the inventory to craft the spear.

After the crafting animation completes, you’re all done! All that’s left to do is to equip your new Crafted Spear and start hunting.
