How to Get Promethean Insulators in Returnal

As you further explore the different biomes in Returnal, you will get to experience new harsh environments that you have to conquer in pursuit of finding the mysterious white shadow signal.

When you have already encountered the second biome called the Crimson Wastes, you will be exposed to the red floor. This is a very dangerous route for Selene to take as it can hinder her movement by draining her adrenaline.

To survive this biome, Selene must acquire the Promethean Insulators to modify her suit and be able to walk on the red floor.

Getting Promethean Insulators in Returnal

Selene’s suit is a progressive type of suit that can be upgraded through time. As you progress further in the game, you will encounter several attachments to the suit that can help you easily survive the obstacles.

One of which is the Promethean Insulators. This suit upgrade allows you to safely walk on the red floor without receiving any damage. However, you will still feel the drag and the difficulty to move around.

The Promethean insulators are the two suit attachments that you can find in the Fractures Wastes.

Specifically, this is placed on a small stone pillar located behind the door that needs an Atropian Key to gain access.

Once you see these, simply interact with them and it will trigger a cutscene where Selene will attach them to her suit.

Now that you already have this permanent suit upgrade, you can freely walk on the red floor without worrying about adrenaline loss.
