As many fans of the series know, the wand chooses the Wizard, and while you can keep the wand that chooses you, you can also customize your wand by choosing its wood, flexibility, style, length, and core.

Head to the Wand Shop

After you have reached the Welcome to Hogsmeade chapter, which is the sixth main quest in the game, you will have the opportunity to go to Ollivanders.

You can find the wand shop on the map shown above.

Once you have arrived, you will go through a slew of different wands. Before long, Ollivander will find one that is perfect for you.

After you have your wand chosen for you, you can customize it by choosing its wood, flexibility, style, length, and core. This is when you can choose to have a Dragon Heartstring as its core. 

After picking your wand’s aesthetics and purchasing it, you can no longer change it, so make sure you like the way it looks.

However, you will find wand handles throughout the game to provide some additional customization.
