How to Farm Runes in Elden Ring
Get as many Runes as you will ever need!
Pretty much everything you do in Elden Ring will revolve around Runes in some way. This useful currency can be used to level up, upgrade equipment, and buy items.
You will undoubtedly want to get more Runes to make your adventure in The Lands Between much more manageable. This is especially true if you’re prone to dying and losing your hard-earned Runes!
In this guide, we’ll tell you the best ways to farm Runes.
The Most Profitable Rune Farming Method in Elden Ring
The best place to farm Runes is in the Palace Approach Ledge-Road on the eastern side of the Mohgwyn Palace.
You can reach this area in the late game by using a waygate from the Consecrated Snowfields, but that’s near the end of the game.
There’s a much easier and earlier way to reach this area, however! For that, seek out Varré and complete his quests in the Liurnia region. He will give you an item that takes you to the Mohgwyn Palace early.
Either way, head to the “Palace Approach Ledge-Road” Site of Grace so you can farm Runes quite easily. There are two different methods of farming in the same area.
Both of these methods have been viable since the game’s launch, and they haven’t been patched out by the many updates the game has received.
In a way, they’re evergreen Rune farming methods!
How to Farm Runes at the Palace-Approach Ledge Road
The first method is the easiest, but it’s a bit slower and less rewarding. For this method, you only need a bow and arrows.
Look northwest from the Site of Grace to find a gigantic mutated bird on a lake of blood. Pull out a bow of your choosing and snipe the bird.
It will aggro and run toward you, ignoring the cliff in front of it. It will run off the edge and plummet to its death, which will earn you around 10,000 Runes! Keep doing this as much as you want.
Alternatively, you can kill all the Albinaurics that are close to the Site of Grace. This gives you way more Runes, but it requires some setup.
You will need a way to quickly kill all the Albinaurics before they can even react. Ideally, you want to use the Sacred Relic Sword’s Wave of Gold skill.
Wave of Gold does exactly what its name implies: you launch a large golden wave of magic from your sword, killing every Albinauric in seconds!
However, this weapon can only be obtained after you completed the game’s story.
You can use Spells and Incantations with big areas of effect instead, although they’re not as effective. Comet Azur and Dragon Breaths should be decent for killing them, for example.
Either way, efficiently killing these Albinaurics will earn you around 32,000 Runes in a matter of seconds!
You can respawn the enemies and repeat the process as much as you want, just rest at the nearby Site of Grace.
