How to Beat the Mushroom Knight in BLACKTAIL

BLACKTAIL is a first-person adventure game from Focus Entertainment that focuses on archy-based combat.

The game was recently released for consoles and PC and focuses on Slavic folklore and the fictitious Baga Yaga to life. The protagonist is a 16-year-old girl named Yaga, who is treated like an outcast due to practicing witchcraft.

As Yaga progresses through the game, she comes across numerous monsters, plants, and other creatures that want her dead, with a boss fight book ending each quest.

The first boss Yaga encounters is the Mushroom Knight. Like most bosses in the game, beating the Mushroom Knight isn’t as easy as attacking it and requires a strategy.

If you are struggling to beat the Mushroom Knight, here is a quick guide to help you out.

Fighting the Mushroom Knight

One of the main things to focus on when fighting the Mushroom Knight is running. By running, you put down your bow and can use your dodge to evade his attack effectively.

After the Mushroom Knight has burrowed into the ground, keep an eye on the dark spots on the ground, as that is where he will re-emerge. Keep your distance from where he emerges as he will bound at you and also allow you to get the jump on him with arrows.

Occasionally, the Mushroom Knight twists as he burrows into the ground, and the spot on the ground will change from black to yellow. At this point, he will be dizzy, and you will have the chance to deal massive damage.

Continue to use this technique until you have defeated the Mushroom Knight.
