Portrait in a Pickle is a side quest where you are tasked with taking a painting back to the Three Broomsticks.

In this quest, you will meet Ferdinand whose fate will be entirely up to you. Depending on your dialog choice, you can bring Ferdinand to the Three Broomsticks as he asks, or just let him burn.

Now the biggest question is: what happens when you choose to burn the painting? Let’s find out!

When you find Ferdinand’s alternate painting in the ruins, he will ask you to take him back to the Three Broomsticks.

You will take the artwork to the Three Broomsticks and hang it on its wall if you select “Let’s get out of here.”

However, the man won’t stop complaining throughout, making you wish you had burned him instead.

The other dialogue option is “Returning you to the Three Broomsticks isn’t my only option.”

Choosing this will open up three more dialogue choices which are as follows:

  • I could take you to the Hog’s Head instead.
  • I could burn you.
  • Never mind.

When you choose to burn him, you might wonder if this could affect your rewards. Fortunately, whatever dialogue option you choose, you will receive the same rewards no matter what.

So if you’re annoyed with Ferdinand’s constant whining, feel free to choose the dark route instead.
