Hogwarts Legacy Ultimate Monster Guide Trolls Dragons Goblins and More

Hogwarts Legacy is brimming with both adorable creatures and terrifying beasts, as any good open-world game should be.

You won’t just encounter these magical monsters in the Care of Magical Creatures courses; you’ll also fight a slew of them as you venture outside the castle’s gates.

So, it’s always best to know and look at what you’re up against beforehand. With that said, here is a list of every creature and monster in Hogwarts Legacy:

Dragons

The most climactic magical monster of all time in Hogwarts Legacy, the Dragons, will also be present in the game.

As you would anticipate, Dragons are enormous and appear to be serving up some extremely spectacular battles near the conclusion of the game.

You might end up facing multiple dragons during the game, progressively progressing to some of the world’s deadliest species.

Centaurs

In the State of Play trailer, Centaurs appeared in one of the main plot missions. This makes sense, given that we know there is a colony in the Forbidden Forest.

We don’t expect you to connect with them frequently, as Centaurs typically shun human contact.

Despite their shyness, Centaurs are more inclined to the forces of good. Therefore, they may become our allies at some point.

Trolls

Trolls are classic brutes in the fantasy genre. Even wizards in the Harry Potter universe have to deal with them. During their first year at Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione famously faced a troll.

Though these lumbering, bulky beasts aren’t the fastest or smartest foes in Hogwarts Legacy, they are adamant and frequently carry massive clubs.

Trolls are expected to be a recurring nemesis to players. You’ll want to use all the techniques Hogwarts teaches you throughout the game to defeat them.

Graphorns

The Graphorn is a dangerous, aggressive magical creature native to the mountains in Hogwarts Legacy. This humpbacked creature with grayish-purple skin is said to be more challenging than dragons.

It has two golden horns and walks on large four-thumbed feet. It can even repel most spells!

Mooncalves

Mooncalves

The Mooncalf is another species that has lately gained popularity in Fantastic Beasts.

This strange tiny animal has a long neck and enormous, wide blue eyes. It only emerges from the tunnels during full moons, thus the name.

Mooncalves appear to be relatively docile, but given a video showing a Hogwarts student feeding a bunch of Mooncalves, gamers might expect to encounter them in the classroom and other areas.

Hippogriffs

Hippogriffs

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban popularized the lesser-known griffin relatives called Hippogriffs.

These haughty and magnificent creatures, half griffin and half mare, fly masterfully but have a temper. Based on a quick flying image in the teaser, it appears that players in Hogwarts Legacy will be able to interact with hippogriffs.

It wouldn’t be shocking if they appeared as a vital component of a Care for Magical Creatures curriculum and functioned as an alternative mode of speedy travel to broomsticks.

House Elves

House Elves

Helga Hufflepuff introduced House Elves to Hogwarts decades ago. She wanted to provide them with quality work that was free of abuse.

While they don’t necessarily appear to be especially important in Hogwarts Legacy, the game would feel quite empty without them.

Acromantulas

Acromantulas

The Acromantulas are huge spiders in Harry Potter’s Wizarding World, as named in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book.

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the Acromantulas appear as minor opponents in the Forbidden Forest while Harry and Ron look for clues about the Chamber.

Aragog, the huge spider, revealed in the book and film that he and his children are in the Forbidden Forest because of Hagrid.

Thestrals

Thestrals

You might have wondered what invisible creature pulls the carts at Hogwarts. These are none other than the Thestrals which are cool-looking horses with wings.

However, only those who have witnessed someone die may see them.

Despite their unusual association with death, they are not evil, and you can even use them as mounts. However, Thestral mounts are only accessible to those who pre-ordered the game.

Nifflers

Nifflers

Nifflers are Platypus-like creatures that act like Magpies. They are always looking for anything sparkly to keep in their front pouch.

You will probably come across one of them in Care for Magical Creatures.

Kneazles

Kneazles

Kneazles are magical beasts similar to cats that have spotted, speckled, or flecked fur, large ears, and a lion-like tail that is lightly plumed.

They were thought to have separate breeds, similar to cats, and thus each one differed in appearance.

If Kneazles like the witch or wizard who wanted to own them, they made excellent pets. Kneazles could interbreed with regular cats and have up to eight kittens in each litter.

Goblins

Goblins

Goblins will make up a large chunk of your enemies in Hogwarts Legacy.

The primary narrative of Hogwarts Legacy is that a Goblin insurrection is starting, and you must somehow assist in putting it down.

Goblin rebellions exist in the wizarding world, although some have criticized their representation as problematic.

Inferi

Inferi

The Inferi is a beast that is likely to pose a significant threat when you encounter them.

A kind of dark magic known as Inferi may animate human corpses into mindless but exceedingly hostile zombie minions.

However, the name humorously alluded to their weakness: they are afraid of fire. As such, you should bring a fire spell when visiting ruins and dark wizard lairs.
