Hogwarts Legacy How to Pick Locks and Unlock Doors

As you traverse Hogwarts, you’ll find a lot of locked doors you can’t enter. This will naturally make you curious and want to see what lies behind them.

Luckily, the game almost always awards your curiosity by giving you new gear, allowing you to take on a new quest, or giving you some extra gold.

Passing through locked doors is rather simple as long as you know the right spell. This guide will show you what it is and how you can pick locks and unlock doors in the game.

Alohomora is a spell that allows you to unlock locks.

These include chests, doors, windows, and more. You can use this spell all throughout Hogwarts to access new areas.

However, you won’t start off the game with the Alohomora spell. Instead, you must complete The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament quest which will reward you with the spell upon completion.

The quest takes place in the main story, but rather in the later parts of the game.

After you have received the Alohomora spell, use it on a lock to start a minigame. To complete the minigame, you must move your right and left analog sticks into place.

The left analog stick controls the green spark while the right analog stick controls the red spark.

You must rotate both sticks one at a time. The goal is to get the green outer gears to spin and then the red middle gears. You will see the gears light up when you have completed the minigame.

Keep in mind that there are different tiers of locks in the game. Each of them will require you to level up your Alohomora spell skill level to unlock.
