Hogwarts Legacy: How to Get Unlimited Legendary Items

Gear in Hogwarts Legacy follows the standard item rarity in most games. The most common items have a Green color followed by Blue, Purple, and Orange. Orange refers to Legendary gear which is the highest rarity in the game, not to mention the best.

As you’d expected Legendary gear is the hardest to find due to its rarity. However, there’s actually a method that allows you to choose which Legendary gear you will obtain.

Here’s how.

How to Do the Legendary Gear Trick

As we all know, once you open a Legendary Chest, you will obtain random gear.

So if you are missing a Legendary handwear or headwear and you get another piece that you already have, it will be disheartening.

However, there’s a trick that allows you to reroll the gear you can obtain. To do this, you need to find a Legendary Chest. There are actually two in the early stages of the game.

You can find the first one in Hogsmeade, behind the Flutes and Lutes building. Get to it by fast-traveling to the North Hogsmeade Floo Flame then traveling south.

You can find the chest near the staircase. You can also use Revelio to reveal its location if you can’t find it.

The other Legendary chest is at the bridge in the middle of the Grand Staircase and the Library Annex in Hogwarts Castle. The only way to access the chest is by solving the puzzle on the bridge.

Do this by turning the number on the torches corresponding to the symbol on the plate on the bridge. You will need the Incendio spell for this.

Once you have located a Legendary Chest, don’t open it yet. Go to the main menu then select Settings.

Save your game manually then select any empty save slot. After that, go back to the game and open the Legendary chest.

If you don’t want the Legendary gear you obtained, return to the main menu and load your manually saved game.

This is basically the save scumming trick. Doing so will allow you to repeatedly open the Legendary chest until you get the gear you want.
