Gloria Victis Ultimate Forestry Guide 1

Forestry is part of the Character Development system in the game that’s intended for collecting and finishing wood.

You start off with the Novice’s Axe for chopping down Common Wood but will slowly progress to higher tiers as you go. By increasing your Forestry skill, you can speed up the time it takes to chop wood and the amount you gather at once.

In this guide, we’ll go through the basics of Forestry and what you should know about it

Types of Wood

You can collect wood from lumber mills and trees in the forest. However, you have to keep in mind that wood comes in different tiers.

Higher-tier wood won’t spawn as much and is located in heavily contested territories around the center of the map. Quality wood is also found near Holy Temples and Guild Provinces.

Before you go chopping, you need to familiarize yourself with the five tiers of wood first. They’re as follows:

  • Common Wood (Tier 1)
  • Quality Wood (Tier 2)
  • Decent Wood (Tier 3)
  • Great Wood (Tier 4)
  • Excellent Wood (Tier 5)

Each type of wood has a different shade and color to signify what tier it is, so familiarize yourself with them all.

Different tiers of wood are used to craft different items like weapons and tents. Wood can also be used to build and upgrade structures.

You will find wood nodes throughout the map, which are just entire trees lying on the ground and are no longer attached to the root.

It’s also possible to build a lumber mill. However, be sure to collect all of the wood nodes in the area first, as they will be reset after the mill is built. You can then further upgrade the lumber mill via the Architect table.

There are five different tiers of axes in the game, and you can craft them via the Engineering crafting profession. They’re as follows:

  • Novice’s Axe – Common Wood
  • Apprentice’s Axe – Quality Wood or below
  • Journeyman’s Axe – Decent Wood or below
  • Craftsman’s Axe – Great Wood or below
  • Master’s Axe – Excellent Wood or below

Like most other actions in the game, cutting wood requires stamina. To ensure you can cut wood for a longer period of time, wear light armor as it reduces the amount of stamina you use.

You can also take potions to keep your stamina up.

You will also notice small glowing sparks on the wood you are cutting. If you cut into the glowing spot, you’ll get triple damage and triple drops, increasing the amount of wood while decreasing the amount of time you chop.
