The latest Genshin Impact 3.4 update added a new quest chain called The Dirge of Bilqis. This particular quest chain is composed of six quests that you have to complete.

One of the quests is the Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears. We made this guide to help you complete it.

The Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears Puzzle Solution in Genshin Impact

The Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears is the second quest that you have to accomplish to complete the whole chain quest. It will automatically be unlocked once you finish Wisdom Has Built Her House.

Your main objectives are to activate the device and touch the giant device at the center of the temple. Here is a step-by-step guide for you.

Activate the Device and Open the Gate

Upon reaching the location, the first thing that you have to do is activate the device. You can do this by simply attacking the Rune Mechanism until the beam of light is pointing to the sand pile.

On the right side, you will see the sand pile where the switch for the door is located. Approach this and interact with it.

After that, look for another Rune Mechanism, and attack it until the beam of light is pointing at the pile of sand on the right side. It will then reveal a switch that can open the gate.

Head inside the room and turn to the other room on the right side. You will see another mechanism inside. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene. Then, leave the room and interact with the switch that you will see outside to open the other door.

Inside the next room, you will see another rune mechanism. Attack it until the light beam points at the entrance’s right side. It will reveal another switch that will open the door next to it.

Go deeper into the temple and look for another rune mechanism that will open the last door going inside the temple.

Inside the temple, you will see these big rune mechanisms. Same as before, attack the marked rune mechanism until the light is pointing to the marked door switch.

As you enter the room, you will see a movable rune mechanism. Interact with it to move it to the other side. Once it stopped, attack it multiple times until the light beam is pointing toward the sand pile.

Do the same with the next movable rune mechanisms to open the next doors. Inside the last room, you will see this mechanism that will trigger a cutscene upon interaction.

Once the cutscene is done, exit the room and use the switch to open the door next to it. It will reveal another moving rune mechanism. Do the same attacking until the switch on the left is seen.

This door will lead you to the deeper part of the place. Follow the path until you see the staircase on the right side of the trail.

Eventually, you will find your way back to the temple. Inside, you will once again find the giant rune mechanisms.

Attack all these, and point their light to the giant device at the center of the room to remove the sand covering it.

Next, approach the next switch to open the door. You will find two enemies inside this room, so make sure to finish them off first before proceeding to the next moving rune mechanism. After the first moving mechanism, you will find another set of mechanisms that need to be activated by one another.

The last switch will be activated by this mechanism. Once you open the door, you will encounter the next device.

Use this switch to open the passage going down. You will, then, see another series of rune mechanisms that can be activated by each other. Go deeper until you reach the movable rune mechanisms again. Use these to find your way back to the temple.

Once you have already reached this area, head to your left side and manipulate the giant rune mechanisms until the light beams are off.

Approach the front of the giant piece at the center and interact with it to activate it.
