Using the Break Mechanic Effectively
The Break mechanic shakes up the familiar weapon triangle system that has been in most entries of Fire Emblem.
Break occurs when you attack an enemy and have a weapon triangle advantage against them. After breaking an enemy, they can’t counter-attack and the Break status will remain for an additional turn.
The weapon triangle advantage is as follows:
- Swords have an advantage over axes
- Axes have an advantage over lances
- Lances have an advantage over lances and swords
- Arts have an advantage over bows, tomes, and knives.
You will quickly learn this game of rock, paper, and scissors. In turn, you will learn to master the Break mechanic in the process.
