Dark and Darker features multiple classes, each with its own unique playstyle. There is the Rouge, Wizard, Fighter, Barbarian, Cleric, and the Ranger.

Though each class excels in certain areas, the Ranger provides a versatile playstyle that allows you to attack from afar thanks to its ranged attack while also having the ability to hold its own up close thanks to its movement speed.

The Ranger also has a few perks and skills that other classes do not have. If you are looking to start a Ranger character, here is a quick guide to some of its best perks and skills to use during gameplay.

Weapons and Equipment

The Ranger’s arsenal of weapons is centered around their bows. There are three bow types you can find within the game:

• The longbow is the strongest of all available bows but using it reduces movement speed.
• The survival bow isn’t as strong, but its rate of fire is much higher than the long bow. It also increases your movement speed.
• The recurved bow is a balance of both the long bow and the survival bow, providing ample movement speed and good damage.

Most players will stick to either the long bow or the survival bow. There are also crossbows, though you will need a perk to use them. Though incredibly effective, their reload speed makes them difficult to use.

The Ranger can also use two swords: the rapier and the arming sword. The rapier is much faster while the arming sword can do more damage but is slower.

With a certain perk, Rangers can also use spears which are some of the most powerful weapons in the game. The damage spears deal in conjunction with Rangers’ speed makes it a deadly combination.

For the armor, you can use light gear so the Ranger can move faster. Be sure to keep an eye on speed reduction always.

Rangers also have skills and perks that make them even more formidable. Here are some of their most notable skills and perks:

• One of the crucial skills to learn is Quickshot which allows you to fire three arrows in quick succession.  
• Multishot is also a great choice, as it will enable you to fire a cone of arrows at enemies.
• Quickfire increases your action speed by 50% for five seconds.
• Sharpshooter adds 15% damage when making a headshot.
• Nimble Hands allows you to knock arrows 15% faster.
